Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan on the 17th. Both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring the security of energy pipelines between the two countries. The Russian Foreign Ministry website released a statement on the same day, stating that against the backdrop of Ukraine's continuous attempts to sabotage the facilities of the "Blue Stream" and "Turkish Stream" natural gas pipelines, Lavrov and Fidan stressed the need to create conditions for the continuous operation of strategic energy projects between Russia and Turkey. According to the statement, the two sides also exchanged views on the situation in Iran. Russia advocates "prioritizing the use of non-military political and diplomatic means" to "quickly ease the crisis caused by the US and Israeli strikes against Iran." Russia is willing to make efforts to promote a solution to the crisis and coordinate efforts with various parties, including Turkey, to ease tensions in the Middle East region. Gazprom, Russia's natural gas industry company, announced on March 11 that its key energy infrastructure in southern Russia has been attacked more than 10 times since February 24, providing security for the operation of the "Turkish Stream" and "Blue Stream" natural gas pipelines.
