On Tuesday, local time, US President Trump expressed anger towards his allies for their unwillingness to participate in the escort operation in the Strait of Hormuz. During a meeting with the Irish Prime Minister at the White House, Trump fiercely criticized British Prime Minister Stamer and also criticized French President Macron. Trump expressed disappointment in Stamer, stating that before Stamer took office, the relationship between the US and the UK was "the best" and mocking Stamer as not being Churchill and being ineffective. When asked whether the US should consider leaving NATO, Trump said, "It is something that should be considered and I can make this decision without Congress." However, he also added that there are currently no specific plans but he is not satisfied with the situation. Previously, Trump criticized NATO on social media, stating that most NATO "allies" are unwilling to get involved in military actions against Iran and that the US no longer needs NATO's assistance, also calling out Japan, Australia, and South Korea.
