Lufthansa Cargo CEO Ashwin Bhat has stated that the Iran war has disrupted the business of Middle Eastern competitors, causing a significant amount of freight capacity to exit the market. This has created unexpected opportunities for Lufthansa Cargo AG. Bhat pointed out that last week, demand increased by 10% to 15% as shippers sought alternative solutions, with particularly strong growth in India and Southeast Asia. Lufthansa Cargo has added four freight flights to India and seen a surge of approximately 40% in shipments to Southeast Asia. Lufthansa Cargo achieved an operating profit of 324 million euros (about 373 million dollars) last year, accounting for approximately 17% of the group's total profit.
