Haikou Meilan International Airport has opened two international cargo routes to Southeast Asia in a row.

On March 16 and 17, 2026, Haikou Meilan International Airport successively opened two international freight routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Haikou and round-trip from Haikou to Kuala Lumpur, promoting the frequency of international freight flights between Haikou Meilan International Airport and Southeast Asia from four flights per week to thirteen flights per week. This further strengthens the air logistics network between Hainan Free Trade Port and Southeast Asia, providing solid support for deepening regional economic and trade cooperation in Hainan Free Trade Port and advancing high-level opening-up to the outside world.
