Recently, Maotai prices have once again fluctuated. After a brief rebound last week, the wholesale price of Maotai bottled Feitian has fallen back to around 1560 yuan per bottle. According to several liquor dealers and scalpers, this is mainly due to Maotai's strategic adjustment, as well as the traditional off-season of white wine consumption after the Spring Festival, leading to weakened demand. The continuous fluctuations have made channels adopt a cautious attitude. Since entering March, Maotai's wholesale prices have shown significant fluctuations. Data from third-party quotation platforms shows that on March 10th, the bulk price of Pu'er Maotai dropped from 1700 yuan per bottle at the beginning of the month to around 1560 yuan per bottle, with bottled prices dropping to 1540 yuan per bottle. On March 14th, the bulk price rose to 1620 yuan per bottle, but prices have fallen again in the past two days. The instability of prices has led liquor dealers and scalpers to maintain caution. A scalper who has been in the Maotai business for many years told reporters that there has been close communication among peers recently, with a general focus on the new changes in Maotai's "iMaotai" business, believing that this new model has broken the traditional operating methods. In the past, Maotai prices were controlled by insiders, and distributors and intermediaries could influence market supply by hoarding goods, thereby controlling prices. However, the current disorderly price fluctuations have made it difficult even for experienced traders to predict the future market, leading everyone to focus more on risk control and be reluctant to easily stock up.
