Starting from March 15th, the international carbon black giant Cabot China will increase the selling prices of all specialty carbon black products produced in China by 1800 yuan per ton. This is the second time Cabot China has raised prices on carbon black products this year. The reason for this frequent price adjustment, according to Cabot China, is the continuous high production costs, making it difficult to maintain the original pricing through cost absorption. According to industry insiders, after the 2026 Spring Festival, the price of coal tar, the core raw material for carbon black production, has significantly increased, becoming a key factor driving the rise in costs for carbon black companies.
