Recently, there have been criminals posing as employees of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption to commit telecommunications fraud, falsely claiming that the individuals are suspected of illegal crimes such as "money laundering", and requesting cooperation with their so-called "investigation". They then induce the individuals to transfer funds to the so-called "ICAC staff account" or fake "secure account".
