After the exposure on March 15th, the GEO "AI poisoning" business is still ongoing. On March 16th, investigations by reporters found that platforms like Xianyu have blocked explicit keywords such as "GEO optimization," but have switched to using hidden terms like "engine optimization" to continue the search, where relevant sellers can still be found. Some service providers have quoted reporters: software services at 398 RMB per month or 1980 RMB per year, while operation agents charge as high as 3980 RMB per quarter to 9800 RMB per year, promising coverage on mainstream AI platforms like Douyin, DeepSeek, and ChatGPT. Tian Feng, director of the Quick Thought Research Institute, told reporters that the essence of GEO black production has evolved from the past 20 years of search engine optimization "ranking robbery" to a more deadly "cognitive manipulation," stating that "this is definitely not just a typical false advertising issue; it is shaking the most core asset of AI commercialization - user trust."
