Goldman Sachs has recently downgraded its three-month target for the Nikkei 225 index from 4200 points to 3900 points, and its six-month target from 4400 points to 4100 points, due to escalating geopolitical concerns. The Goldman Sachs research department now assumes that oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz will decrease by 21 days, compared to the previous assumption of 10 days. The research department has also revised upward the price trajectory for Brent crude oil, expecting it to reach $110 per barrel in March and $85 per barrel in April, before falling back to $71 per barrel in the fourth quarter. In addition, Goldman Sachs has lowered its forecast for Japan's actual GDP growth in 2026 from 0.8% to 0.5%.
