The Chinese consulate confirmed that two Chinese citizens have died in the flooding in Australia.
The Consulate-General of China in Brisbane confirmed on the 14th that two foreign tourists who died in the recent flood disaster in Queensland, Australia were Chinese citizens. Queensland police said on the 11th that the two foreign tourists drove from the Queensland capital Brisbane to the North Burnett area of the state, but were unable to reach their destination due to continuous heavy rainfall and widespread flooding. Local police launched an emergency search and rescue operation on the morning of the 11th, using helicopters and other rescue forces. In the afternoon of the same day, search and rescue personnel found the vehicle the two were traveling in near the town of Kilcoy, about 175 kilometers from Brisbane. The police confirmed on the 12th that two bodies were found inside the vehicle.
