A federal judge has rejected subpoenas against the Federal Reserve Board. The subpoenas demanded records related to the renovation project of the Federal Reserve headquarters and Chairman Jerome Powell's testimony before Congress. Judge James Boasberg stated that the government failed to present any evidence to justify the validity of these subpoenas and described them as reflecting an "improper motive" of retaliation against Powell due to policy disagreements. Jeanine Pirro, who leads the federal prosecutor's office in the District of Columbia, called the ruling incorrect and said she would appeal. "This process has been arbitrarily disrupted by a radical judge," Pirro said in a press conference on Friday. "The process should have been allowed to proceed in a normal manner, but that was not the case. They should be ashamed of themselves." The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The Federal Reserve declined to comment.
