Lithium giant Rio Tinto Group will slow down the construction progress of the Nemaska Lithium smelting plant in Becancour, Quebec, Canada, due to soaring costs. Many contractors will have to stop work in the coming weeks. Only a few workers will be on site. It is expected that the project will resume full construction in 2027.
