The Yellow River is about to open its entire course, and two departments are discussing and deploying the final stage of flood control work.
The Yellow River is about to start flowing across its entire length, and the ice control work is entering its final stage. On March 12, the National Headquarters for Flood Control and Drought Relief and the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to organize consultations with meteorological, water resources, and other departments to assess the ice control situation. They conducted a video call with the frontline headquarters for ice control in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region along the Yellow River, further arranging and deploying measures for ice control work. The consultations pointed out that the temperatures in Inner Mongolia have been consistently high recently, leading to an accelerated melting of ice in the Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River. Although the ice control work has entered its final stage, it is still in a period of concentrated risk. We must overcome complacency and empiricism, establish a mindset of bottom-line thinking and extreme thinking, and always maintain a rigorous and pragmatic working attitude to ensure the success of various ice control measures. The National Headquarters for Flood Control and Drought Relief continues to maintain a Level Four emergency response for ice control in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
