LG's Chief Technology Officer of New Energy stated that they will begin mass production of a new type of lithium iron phosphate battery in 2027, which has higher energy density and longer cycle life. This is the first time LG has disclosed plans to introduce a significantly upgraded model of lithium iron phosphate batteries, aiming to reposition themselves as a high-value solution for energy storage systems.
