The head of the Iraqi Ports Company told the Iraqi News Agency that Iraq's oil ports have completely ceased operations. He said that commercial ports are still operating. According to another statement, the Iraqi National Oil Marketing Organization said that two oil tankers operating in Iraqi waters were attacked. The tankers are the "SAFESEA VISHNU" tanker flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, leased by an Iraqi company under contract with the Iraqi National Oil Marketing Organization; and the "ZEFYROS" tanker flying the flag of Malta, carrying condensate oil produced by the Basra Gas Company. The tankers were attacked in the loading area. The Iraqi National Oil Marketing Organization stated that this incident has had a negative impact on Iraq's security and economy, as well as posing a threat to maritime navigation and oil activities in Iraqi waters.
