According to the head of the project development company for the "Texas Refinery" project, the new refinery in Texas that President Trump praised will not start selling fuel until at least three years later. John Calce, co-CEO of America First Refining, said the facility in Brownsville is expected to break ground in the second quarter. Some of the project's large processing units are expected to arrive on site in 2028 and complete mechanical construction, with fuel sales beginning the following year. The Brownsville project has been in development for years and will use American shale oil for production. The refinery's products will mainly be sold to markets along the Gulf Coast of the United States, and could also be sold to Latin America.
