In the past three years, the market supervision department in Shanghai has investigated and handled a total of 58 cases of commercial secret infringement, with a total fine of nearly 5 million yuan; in 2025 alone, 22 cases were closed with a fine of 1.67 million yuan. Most of these cases involve core technologies and key industries, with the infringers often being former employees or business partners, causing significant losses to the companies. So far, Pudong, Fengxian, Huangpu, and Minhang districts have been selected as innovative pilot areas for national commercial secret protection.
