Lithium project in Argentina obtained financing of $1.175 billion from Rio Tinto.

Rio Tinto announced on March 10th that it has obtained a $1.175 billion financing package from four international lenders to support the development of the La Juntura lithium mine project in Salta Province, Argentina. Construction of the plant started last year, including the expansion of the camp and the development of site infrastructure. It is expected that the project will achieve its first production in 2028 and reach full production capacity after a three-year ramp-up period.
