Microsoft submitted a friend of the court brief to the court on Tuesday in support of the lawsuit filed by artificial intelligence company Anthropic, requesting a temporary injunction to prevent the U.S. Department of Defense from designating them as a supply chain risk. Anthropic sued the Department of Defense on Monday to oppose being placed on a national security blacklist. Microsoft stated that this designation has directly impacted their business, and without a temporary restraining order, suppliers relying on Anthropic's technology may be forced to quickly adjust their product lines.
