The first and second series of registered treasury bonds for this year will be issued starting today.
The first and second installment of savings bonds for this year started today in six major banks including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, and China Construction Bank, as well as some other banks like Zhejiang Commercial Bank and Shanghai Bank. The bonds being issued this time are certificate-style government bonds, which can only be purchased at bank branches. There are two options available, a three-year term with an annual interest rate of 1.63% and a five-year term with an annual interest rate of 1.70%. To ensure that individual customers can purchase the bonds, several banks including Agricultural Bank of China have adjusted the operating hours of some branches to open at 8:30 in the morning.
