The meeting was connected via video link to the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission, analyzing the development trend and defense situation of ice jam in the Yellow River, and deploying targeted measures for current ice jam prevention work. As of 10:00 on March 9, a total of 319 kilometers of ice had opened in the Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River, with the first opening in Xinhua Village, Xianfeng Town, Wulate Qianqi, Bayannur City, and a remaining ice length of 337 kilometers. It is predicted that the temperature in the upper reaches of the Yellow River will fluctuate in the next week, and the river section in Inner Mongolia will continue to open. It is expected that the entire river will be open around March 14, about 9 days earlier than usual. The maximum flow at the Head Gulch hydrological station is estimated to be around 600 million cubic meters, about 40% less than usual, with a peak ice flow of around 950 cubic meters per second, about 50% less than usual. The opening of the river is stable, and the overall risk is controllable.
