The American professor said that if the US plan goes bankrupt, the war will be prolonged.
On March 6th, Professor Robert Pape of the University of Chicago, in an interview with the American Columbia Broadcasting Company, stated that the United States cannot bring about a change of regime in Iran solely through airstrikes, and that this war cannot be ended in the short term. Pape said that the initial airstrikes by the United States and Israel did not achieve the so-called "swift and decisive victory" they desired, but instead sparked a patriotic fervor among the Iranian people, leading Iran's new leaders to respond even more forcefully to the US and Israel. Pape also criticized the US government for not having a true strategy to address the possibility of a long-term conflict, instead just showing a tougher attitude, which does not help end the war.
