National People's Congress representative and driver of Chongqing City Taxi Company Limited Liability Company Second Branch, Yin Qilong, found during his research that the current taxi industry in China is facing severe challenges due to the intense competition between conventional taxis and ride-hailing services. The dynamic pricing of ride-hailing services is competing viciously with the government-regulated pricing of conventional taxis; outdated regulations and inconsistent oversight are exacerbating the chaos in the industry. In response to this, he suggests unifying laws and regulations, eliminating market barriers, scientifically regulating capacity; cracking down on vicious price competition, implementing same-city same-price policies; establishing a national regulatory platform to standardize operations, solve issues such as oversupply of ride-hailing services, excessive platform commissions, and lack of protection for driver rights; strengthening technological applications to create smart transportation, and improving supporting facilities to protect driver rights and promote the orderly development of the industry.
