The United States was exposed to pressure Sri Lanka not to repatriate survivors and crew of Iranian warships.

On March 7th local time, an internal telegram from the US State Department shows that the US is urging the Sri Lankan government not to repatriate the survivors of a sunk Iranian military ship and the crew of another Iranian ship back to Iran.
