American companies under attack in Iraq.
According to sources from the Iraqi security department, a facility in the southern oil town of Basra in Iraq was attacked by drones and caught fire from the evening of March 6 to the early morning of March 7. The facility housed offices and warehouses of American oilfield service giant Halliburton, as well as the offices of the US Defense Department contractor Kellogg, Brown & Root. Footage from the scene released on March 7 showed significant damage to parts of the facility. However, there have been no reports of casualties so far. On March 7, Halliburton, Kellogg, Brown & Root, and another oilfield technology service company Schlumberger started evacuating foreign employees from Iraqi oilfields to Kuwait through border crossings.
