Tokyo Electric Power Company began releasing contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean on the morning of the 6th. This is the company's 7th time releasing contaminated water into the sea in the 2025 fiscal year, and the 18th time in total. According to Japanese media reports, at around 10:00 local time on the 6th, Tokyo Electric Power Company started the water pump to begin releasing contaminated water. According to information released by the company, this release will continue until March 24th, with plans to release approximately 7,800 tons of contaminated water, containing a total of about 20 trillion becquerels of radioactive tritium.
