Since February, with the rising spring temperatures, the melting snow has led to unstable snow layers, making avalanches more prone to occur in mountainous areas. Recently, Chinese tourists from Taiwan were injured in an avalanche while skiing on Mount Furano in Hokkaido, Japan. The Chinese Consulate General in Sapporo reminds Chinese citizens in its jurisdiction to pay high attention to outdoor activity safety.
