Mercedes will develop a new electric vehicle platform based on Geely's GEEA4.0 electronic electrical architecture.
At the end of January this year, Mercedes-Benz management began to frequently appear at the Geely Hangzhou Bay Research and Development Center. According to multiple industry sources, the two automotive giants are in discussions on a collaboration at the level of whole vehicle electronics and electrical systems. In early February, Geely management, accompanied by translators, traveled to Shanghai Jin Qiao and further confirmed the direction of the collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. Currently, the two sides have reached a consensus, with Mercedes-Benz developing a new electric vehicle platform based on Geely's GEEA 4.0 electronic and electrical architecture. According to multiple informed sources with business dealings with Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Benz has already launched a new platform with the codename "Phoenix" to support entry-level electric vehicle models globally. It is this new platform that will integrate Geely's GEEA 4.0 architecture.
