According to the news website Axios, the Trump administration and the Venezuelan national mining company have reached an agreement to sell up to 1,000 kilograms of gold to the US market. Sources said that under the agreement, Venezuela's Minerven will sell 650 to 1,000 kilograms of gold ingots to the commodities trading group Tock. The report stated that Tock group will then distribute the gold to US refineries under another agreement. Prior to this, US Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum held a meeting with Venezuelan interim President Rodriguez discussing mining reform and mineral extraction issues. The US Department of the Interior did not immediately respond to requests for comments outside of normal working hours. Rodriguez told Burgum and the mining executives and metal traders present that Venezuela will help unlock the country's mineral wealth at "Trump speed." "Venezuelan President Rodriguez did a great job, her cooperation with US representatives was very smooth. Oil is starting to flow, and the professionalism and dedication shown by both countries is reassuring!" Trump posted on the social media platform Truth Social on Wednesday.
