South Korean chip industry is worried that the Iran crisis will impact data center plans in the Middle East.
South Korea's ruling party lawmaker Jin Young-gei said on Thursday that the country's chip industry is concerned that the prolonged Iran crisis may thwart plans of major tech companies to establish AI data centers in the Middle East, which could drag down strong chip demand. Jin also said that the chip industry is worried that the Iran crisis may disrupt the supply of key chip manufacturing materials from the Middle East. Jin made the comments after meeting with executives from Samsung Electronics and other companies, as well as business and trade groups.
