JPMorgan Chase CEO: If the conflict with Iran does not escalate, there will not be severe inflation.
On March 2nd local time, Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, said at the annual leveraged finance conference in Miami that inflation could become a "skunk at the party" for the U.S. economy. "Inflation may be higher than people expect, and if that happens, it's like a skunk showing up at the party and ruining the mood," Dimon said. "I hope this doesn't happen." Trump warned that actions against Iran could last for weeks, with weekend airstrikes resulting in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and other senior officials. "This may slightly raise gasoline prices for now, but if this situation doesn't last long, it won't cause a serious inflation shock," Dimon said. "But if this situation persists for a long time, it's a different story."
