The Supreme People's Procuratorate reported 8 typical cases of the special action "Guarding People's Livelihood", in which Lin Mouwu and others were named in the series of cases of "network box opening" that infringed on citizens' personal information. Between 2023 and 2025, Lin Mouwu, Wang Moukang, Liu Mou Biao, and Sun Mouheng illegally obtained citizens' personal information data through encrypted communication tools and other internet channels, and later sold them for profit through methods such as receiving virtual currency. In October 2025, the Beijing procuratorial organs lawfully prosecuted Lin Mouwu and the other 4 individuals for suspected crimes of infringing on the personal information of citizens and illegally using information networks.
