As the conflict between the US and Iran continues to escalate and affect multiple countries in the Middle East, the world's largest shipping companies have been avoiding the Persian Gulf. Dubai's global port operator DP World has also suspended operations at its main port in Dubai. The world's largest container shipping company, MSC Mediterranean Shipping, has suspended all booking services to the Middle East region. Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have also suspended their routes crossing the Strait of Hormuz. According to a customer notice, DP World has suspended operations at Jebel Ali Port. The logistics disruption will have a heavy impact on the region. Commercial hubs like Dubai have long relied on trade, tourism, transportation, and finance, establishing a reputation as a "safe haven" in the Middle East. Following the weekend conflict, the two largest airlines in the United Arab Emirates have grounded flights, and some airports have been damaged by debris from attacks.
