Dominican President Abinader announced that the country has discovered over 1.5 billion tons of rare earth minerals, covering 17 key rare earth metals, with the potential to become an important supplier to the high-tech industry; Abinader has set the goal of completing mineral resource assessment this year and certifying reserves early next year in order to achieve large-scale mining and refining. Given the economic potential of this discovery, the Dominican Republic has established a new state-owned institution - the Dominican Mining Company, which is responsible for the extraction and export management of mineral resources.
