Hong Kong has relaxed the eligibility of frequent visitors to Hong Kong to register for e-Channel services and simplified the registration process.
The Immigration Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government announced on the 26th that in order to further facilitate visitors to Hong Kong and enhance clearance efficiency, eligibility for frequent visitors to register to use self-service immigration clearance services will be relaxed starting from the 27th, and the registration procedure for using e-Channel services will be simplified. Under the new arrangement, frequent visitors, including those holding valid travel documents and multiple-entry tourist visas, only need to have visited Hong Kong International Airport twice or more in the past 24 months and meet relevant conditions to register for free to use e-Channel services. After successful registration, travelers can use e-Channels at various immigration control points in Hong Kong to handle immigration clearance procedures themselves and enjoy a more convenient clearance experience.
