The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, He Yongqian, stated at a regular press conference held on February 26th that during the visit of German Chancellor Merkel with a high-level economic delegation to China, China and Germany conducted in-depth exchanges in the field of trade and economy and achieved positive and pragmatic results. The two sides reached more than a dozen commercial agreements involving industries such as automobiles, machinery, energy, logistics, and finance. He Yongqian stated that this year marks the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and China is continuously promoting high-quality development and expanding high-level opening-up, bringing extensive opportunities for Sino-German economic and trade cooperation. The Ministry of Commerce will work together with Germany to implement important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen dialogue on economic and trade policies, make good use of mechanisms such as the Sino-German Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Sino-German Economic Advisory Committee, expand cooperation areas, promote healthy and stable development of Sino-German economic and trade cooperation, and continuously achieve new results.
