The latest research from consulting firm Eurepo reveals that the global automotive industry is undergoing severe transformation pains, with over 40% of automotive industry executives worried about unemployment, a proportion far exceeding the average level in the industries surveyed by Eurepo, including retail, media and entertainment, financial services, telecommunications, energy, technology, and consumer goods. Behind this anxiety is the harsh reality of continued pressure on the automotive industry. According to Eurepo's "2026 Eurepo Disruption Index," the automotive industry has been the industry most affected by shocks and reforms for two consecutive years. Despite its disruption index falling from 74 points last year, weak growth, intense competition, and high costs have collectively disrupted the existing global automotive business landscape.
