Britain will extensively investigate the relationship between Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein.
On February 24, local time, the UK government agreed to release the work documents of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the brother of former Prince and King Charles III, during his time as a trade envoy, in order to thoroughly investigate his relationship with Epstein. According to previous reports by the British media, Andrew is suspected of providing secret documents to Epstein during his time as a trade envoy. On February 19, Andrew was briefly arrested on suspicion of "improper conduct by a public official." In an earlier debate in the British House of Commons that day, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, Edward Davey, stated that the relationship between Andrew, Peter Mandelson, who had served as the British Ambassador to the US and Secretary of State for Business, and Epstein is a stain on the UK, and only an open and transparent investigation can clear this stain. Due to the continuing impact of the scandal on the reputation of the British royal family, Andrew was stripped of his titles, honors, and privileges last October, and moved out of the royal residence where he had lived for over 20 years earlier this month.
