Peru's President presides over the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet, with former Minister of Economy Miraflors appointed as Prime Minister.
On February 24th local time, Peruvian President Jose Barcasa presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet at the Presidential Palace. In this cabinet reshuffle, former Minister of Economy Dennis Miralles officially took over as the President of the Council of Ministers. With Miralles' promotion, the Minister of Economy and Finance was assumed by economist Geraldo Lopez Gonzalez. Former Director of the National Civil Defense Agency Luis Arroyo Sanchez was appointed as the new Minister of Defense; former Director of the Lima Police, Police General Hugo Bedoya, was sworn in as the new Minister of the Interior. Hugo De Zela was reappointed to continue as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
