On February 24th, it was learned from the Sichuan Provincial Emergency Management Department that recently, the Panzhi area in Sichuan has been experiencing continuous sunny and hot weather with little rainfall. Some areas have had no precipitation for over 60 days, making the forest and grasslands dry and easily flammable. Combined with the fact that the Spring Festival has just passed and the resumption of work and spring farming activities are fully underway, outdoor activities such as agricultural burning and construction have significantly increased. Coupled with frequent occurrences of strong winds and high levels of personnel movement, the control of fire sources has become more difficult, and the situation for forest and grassland fire prevention is becoming serious and complex. After consultation and analysis by the Sichuan Provincial Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention Headquarters Office, the Sichuan Provincial Forestry Bureau, Sichuan Provincial Meteorological Bureau, and relevant local authorities, taking into account meteorological conditions, forest phenology, human activities, outdoor fire sources, and historical fire incidents, it is predicted that from February 24th to 28th, the forest fire danger level in Panzhihua City and the central, southern, and northwestern parts of Liangshan Prefecture will remain at a high level of danger. Therefore, a high forest and grassland fire danger orange alert has been issued.
