The Indian shipping regulator has instructed ship recruitment agencies, shipping companies, and maritime associations to stop sending Indian crew members to Iran until further notice. According to a notice posted by the Indian Shipping Directorate on social platform X, relevant companies need to closely monitor the safety of crew members operating in Iranian waters or transiting through the Strait of Hormuz. Indian seafarers stationed in Iran have been advised to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary shore activities, and coordinate with their respective agents for safe evacuation.
