Foreign media reports: US military withdraws from its largest base in northeastern Syria.
According to Reuters, citing two Syrian military and security sources, the US military began withdrawing from its largest base in northeastern Syria on the 23rd local time. Witnesses reported that dozens of trucks left the military base in Kharasak province on the morning of the 23rd, some of which were carrying armored vehicles. Footage released by Reuters later showed these trucks driving along a highway on the outskirts of Kamishli city in Hassakeh province. The report mentioned that even after a complete withdrawal from the Kharasak military base, the US-led coalition will still maintain a base near the Syrian-Iraqi border in Rumeilan. Kharasak has been a major hub for the US-led multinational military alliance targeting the "Islamic State" in Syria. The US Central Command, the Syrian Transitional Government Ministry of Defense, and the Syrian Democratic Forces did not respond to requests for comments.
