Joerg Kraemer of Deutsche Bank said in a report that the improvement in Germany's business confidence is positive, but confidence is still being suppressed due to a lack of comprehensive economic reforms. Germany's Ifo Business Confidence Index rose from 87.6 in January to 88.6 in February. Kraemer stated that while this data is better than expected, it only offsets the recent declines in the past few months. "The Ifo Business Confidence Index for Germany has not yet shown a clear upward trend," he said. Kraemer pointed out that while other key indicators have recently performed better than expected, there is still no clear turnaround, and business confidence continues to reflect a sense of disappointment about the lack of necessary economic reforms. "Therefore, the strong fiscal stimulus measures, which account for approximately 0.8% of GDP, have not yet fully taken effect in the country's economy."
