Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, was accused by staff of "double standards" for receiving remuneration from the International Settlement Bank.
Although the European Central Bank prohibits its employees from accepting third-party payments, ECB President Lagarde, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements, still receives an annual income of approximately 140,000 euros. Some ECB employees complained on the internal message board that there is a clear double standard in this matter. One ECB staff member wrote, "Say one thing, do another."
