OpenAI has informed investors that it plans to invest approximately $600 billion in computing power by 2030. Just a few months ago, CEO Altman had promised infrastructure investments of $1.4 trillion. In 2025, OpenAI generated $13.1 billion in revenue, exceeding the previous target of $10 billion; it also spent $8 billion in cash for the year, falling short of the $9 billion target. The company has provided lower figures and a more specific spending schedule. There are widespread concerns that its expansion ambitions far exceed the potential income scale in the future. OpenAI expects total revenue to exceed $280 billion by 2030, with consumer and enterprise businesses contributing roughly equally. The spending plan is intended to more directly match the expected revenue growth. OpenAI is in the process of completing a round of financing exceeding $100 billion, with approximately 90% coming from strategic investors. NVIDIA is in talks to invest up to $30 billion, and the pre-financing valuation for this round could reach $730 billion. In addition to NVIDIA, strategic investors in this round of financing include Softbank and Amazon.
