The American Soybean Association stated after the Supreme Court ruling on tariffs that farmers whose income is squeezed due to high input costs and low commodity prices will not benefit from the Trump administration seeking other avenues to set trade barriers. The president of the association, Scott Metzger, said, "Due to farmers being squeezed between costs and prices, and with agricultural input costs remaining high, we urge the president not to impose tariffs on agricultural inputs using other authorities." Metzger stated that what soybean producers need is "certainty and reliable market access." Grain futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange saw mixed movements, with soybean futures falling by 0.3%, corn futures rising by 0.6%, and wheat futures rising by 1.8%.
