Argentina reduces nearly 22,000 companies within two years.
Data released by the Argentine Professional Risk Regulation Authority recently shows that in the past two years, nearly 22,000 companies in the country have decreased. The agency stated in a report that the number of registered companies in Argentina has decreased from over 510,000 in November 2023 to over 490,000 in November 2025. During the same period, the number of registered employees decreased from 9.857 million to 9.567 million, resulting in a loss of nearly 300,000 jobs. In addition, the closure rate of newly established companies remains high. From the third quarter of 2024 to the second quarter of 2025, 34% of bankrupt companies had been established for less than three years. Analysts believe that the decrease in the number of companies reflects a slowdown in economic activity. Over the past two years, the Milae government has significantly reduced public spending, impacting various economic sectors and causing disruptions in the job market.
