According to informed sources, Samsung Electronics is negotiating a price of about $700 per unit for the next-generation high-bandwidth memory chip HBM4, which is a 20% to 30% increase over HBM3E, mainly due to rising demand. SK Hynix set the price of supplying Nvidia with HBM4 at around $550 in August last year. Sources say SK Hynix, which is about to begin mass production of HBM4, is expected to increase prices to a level similar to Samsung Electronics. It is predicted that the operating profit of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix in the first quarter could reach 30 trillion Korean won.
