On February 18th local time, the European Commission announced that it has adopted a comprehensive strategy to increase support for the EU's Eastern region bordering Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The announcement reiterated the Commission's commitment to continue supporting the Eastern regions bordering Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The announcement proposed a series of actions to help the affected areas address challenges. To ensure progress, the European Commission will initiate an annual high-level political dialogue to facilitate discussions on the EU's actions and their impact on the resilience and development of the EU's Eastern regions bordering Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The first dialogue will take place on February 26th, during which financial institutions will sign a declaration to launch the "Eastern Investment Mechanism".
