Shushan's warm snow turns "silver", Sichuan's ice and snow economy continues to heat up.
Departing from Chengdu, after a drive of over 2 hours, you will arrive at the Qiangren Valley Ski Resort in Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. During this year's Spring Festival holiday, tourists from all over have come to experience the joy of ice and snow in the south. "Compared to previous snow seasons, this year the ski resort has expanded the area for snow play, catering to the needs of families traveling together. Young people can ski, while children can play in the snow," said Liu Jie, the site manager of Qiangren Valley Ski Resort. Currently, the resort has 10 ski slopes in operation with over 160 coaches, and plans to expand with more advanced slopes in the future to meet the needs of professional skiers. It is reported that Qiangren Valley Ski Resort has a snow season lasting 4 to 5 months, allowing visitors to experience the fun of blue ice and skiing. During the 2024-2025 snow season, the resort received over 120,000 visitors, not only boosting the occupancy rate of surrounding accommodations but also increasing sales of ethnic cuisine, creating a beneficial cycle of "ice and snow attraction, business development, and benefiting the people". Currently, China's ice and snow economy is on the rise, and Sichuan is utilizing multiple business formats such as "ice and snow + culture", "ice and snow + study tours", and "ice and snow + folk customs" to continuously maximize the potential of "cold resources" and generate a "hot effect".
